INTERNATIONAL MATHEMATICAL OLYMPIAD NATIONAL SELECTION TEST (IMONST 1) 2026


IMONST is a national-level Mathematical Olympiad that tests the talent and skills of students in problem-solving and mathematical thinking, with all the thrilling questions that will bring out the best in the students.


Fee: RM50 per participant

Competition Date: 28 August 2026

Competition Uptime: 8:00AM - 10:00PM

Competition Actual Duration : 2 Hours 30 Minutes

Competition Mode: Online

Language: English and Bahasa Melayu


IMONST categories: 

  • Beginner: Standard 1 - 3 or Year 1 - 3, including Pre-School (6 - 9 years old)
  • Pioneer: Standard 4 - 6 or Year 4 - 6 (10 - 12 years old)
  • Junior: Form 1 - 3 or Year 7 - 9 (13 - 15 years old)
  • Senior: Form 4 and above, including Pre-University students or Year 10 and above (16 - 19 years old)


Topics: Combinatorics, Geometry, Number Theory, Algebra


The paper format are as follows:

  • Section A : 10 True or False Questions, each worth 1 mark.
  • Section B : 10 Subjective Question, each worth 3 marks.
  • Section C : 10 Subjective Question, each worth 6 marks.


Each student will receive a grade based on their scores according to the following range:-

  • Stellarity Grade (S) = 85 to 100 marks
  • Excellence Grade (A) = 70 to 84 marks
  • Honours Grade (B) = 60 to 69 marks
  • Commendable Grade (C) = 50 to 59 marks
  • Merit Grade (D) = 40 to 49 marks
  • Participation Grade (E) = 0 to 39 marks


All IMONST participants will be eligible for PAJSK marks! All participants will be graded and receive physical and digital certificates.


IMONST winners will be able to represent Malaysia in various international mathematical competitions.

ISLAMIC SCHOOLS MATHEMATICAL OLYMPIAD (ISMO) 2026


Islamic Schools Mathematical Olympiad, atau ISMO merupakan salah satu program pertandingan Olimpiad dalam peringkat pusingan pertama di bawah projek Mathematical Champions' Summit anjuran Jawatankuasa IMO Malaysia.


Pertandingan ISMO ini disasarkan kepada murid-murid yang belajar di Sekolah Beraliran Agama Islam (SBAI) seluruh Malaysia. Sekolah-sekolah yang dianggap Sekolah Beraliran Agama Islam adalah melibatkan namun tidak terhad kepada SMKA, SMA/SAM, SBPI, MRSM Ul-Albab, sekolah-sekolah persendirian seperti Maahad Tahfiz dan juga sekolah-sekolah antarabangsa yang mempunyai aliran agama.Pertandingan ini bertujuan untuk memilih dan mengetengahkan murid-murid yang mempunyai kepakaran matematik yang tinggi dalam kalangan murid sekolah beraliran agama Islam.


Dalam pertandingan ini, para peserta akan menjawab soalan-soalan Matematik Olimpiad. Pemarkahan dan pengumuman pemenang akan diberikan pada hari yang ditetapkan. Pemenang-pemenang akan berpeluang untuk mara ke pusingan seterusnya. Semua pelajar SBAI di Malaysia dijemput untuk menyertai ISMO, sebagai satu platform untuk mempelajari ilmu-ilmu matematik yang mendalam, teknik penyelesaian masalah, dan cara berfikir secara kreatif dan kritis. Bengkel persediaan disediakan untuk peserta-peserta yang ingin membuat persiapan. Bengkel ini tidak diwajibkan.


Hanya peserta yang menduduki ujian ISMO sahaja akan menerima sijil.


Semua penerima pingat emas dalam penganugerahan individu daripada setiap kategori untuk ISMO akan dijemput menyertai pusingan kedua Projek MCS iaitu pertandingan Mathematical Champions’ Summit (MCS) secara percuma. Pertandingan MCS ini akan dijalankan secara bersemuka pada bulan Oktober 2026 di tempat yang akan diumumkan. Makanan dan penginapan disediakan.

GIFTED SCHOOLS MATHEMATICAL OLYMPIAD (GISMO) 2026


Gifted Schools Mathematical Olympiad, or GiSMO is one of the first-round Olympiad competition programmes under the Mathematical Champions’ Summit (MCS) project organised by the IMO Committee Malaysia.


The GiSMO programme is conducted to identify and nurture gifted students, particularly in mathematics, for selection into higher-level programmes. Any gifted schools are welcomed to participate in this competition. A gifted school is a school that have either a comprehensive talent development program tailored to its students or a highly performing school. This context extends to any suitable schools, be it government school, private school or even international school.


In this competition, participants will solve Olympiad-level mathematics problems. Grading and the announcement of winners will be carried out on a designated date. Excellent participants will have the opportunity to advance to the next round.


Preparatory workshop will be provided for participants to prepare. This workshop is optional.


Only students sitting for the GISMO exam will receive certificates.


All GISMO individual Gold medalist will be invited to participate for free in the second round of the MCS Project that is Mathematical Champions’ Summit (MCS) competition. This MCS competition will be organized physically on October 2026 in a venue that will be announced. Meals and accommodation will be provided.
