BRUNEI KANGAROO MATH COMPETITION 2026



The Kangaroo Mathematics Competition (KMC) is the world’s largest international mathematics competition, engaging over 6 million students from more than 115 countries each year. The competition is widely recognised for its engaging, creative, and non-routine mathematical problems that encourage logical reasoning, critical thinking, and a genuine interest in mathematics.


In Brunei Darussalam, the Kangaroo Mathematics Competition is organised by Pandai Brunei, offering students nationwide the opportunity to participate in a globally benchmarked competition while enriching their mathematical learning experience beyond the classroom.


Registration:


Open to schools, tuition centres, and individual participants. School registrations must be submitted by the Teacher-in-Charge.

BRUNEI KANCIL SCIENCE COMPETITION 2026



The Kancil Science Competition is an annual academic competition designed to challenge students’ understanding of science through critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and general scientific knowledge. The competition also serves as a platform to identify students with strong potential who may be considered for future participation in international science programmes, including the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO).


The competition is open to Primary, Secondary, and Pre-University students in Brunei Darussalam.


The Brunei Kancil Science Competition 2026 will be conducted on the 10th September 2026.


Recognised internationally as one of the largest science competitions, the Kancil Science Competition provides students in Brunei Darussalam with valuable exposure to international-standard assessment, encouraging academic excellence and confidence beyond the classroom.

BRUNEI HIPPO English Without Borders – the Contest 2026



HIPPO – English Without Borders is an international English language competition that helps students improve their English skills while learning about different cultures around the world. It is open to Primary, Secondary, and Pre-University students in Brunei Darussalam and follows international English standards (CEFR).


Students compete in age-appropriate categories, giving everyone a fair chance to show their skills. HIPPO also helps students build confidence, communication skills, and motivation, while gaining valuable experience in international-level English assessments.

2026 HIPPO Schedule ;

  • Preliminary Round: 8–9 May 2026 – Held at participating schools, approved local test venues.
  • National Final: 29–30 May 2026 – Top performers from the preliminary round compete at respected schools
  • Regional Qualifiers (Asia-Pacific): July 2026 – Face-to-face event for top students in the region (venue TBA, e.g., Thailand).
  • Play-Off Qualifiers: August 2026 – Final chance for high-scoring students to qualify for the World Finals (venue TBA).
  • World Finals: 12–15 October 2026 – Held Italy, for top qualifiers from around the world.


This schedule gives students plenty of opportunities to showcase their English skills and gain international competition experience.

BRUNEI BEAVER COMPUTATIONAL THINKING SKILLS COMPETITION



The Beaver Computational Thinking Competition is an interactive, online international contest that is part of the global Bebras initiative. The Bebras movement aims to spark students’ interest in Informatics and Computational Thinking, which involves essential problem-solving skills such as breaking down complex tasks into simpler steps, designing algorithms, recognizing patterns, and applying logical reasoning.


Nearly 4 million students from over 74 countries have taken part in the Beaver Competition worldwide, making it one of the largest international contests in computational thinking.


The competition, founded in Lithuania, derives its name from the Lithuanian word “Bebras”, meaning Beaver. Each year, students from around the globe come together to test and develop their computational thinking skills in a fun and challenging environment.


In Brunei last year, a total of 131 students participated, demonstrating impressive creativity and problem-solving skills.


For 2026, the competition will be held online on 12th November 2026. Students from Primary, Secondary, and Pre-University levels are encouraged to participate and experience this exciting global challenge.
